Delete files in your SimplyPats Temp Folder

The following may address a “SimplyPats has stopped working” Error or issues where it starts up and closes down without showing any Error.

Try deleting the files in your SimplyPats Temp Folder which can be found in the SimplyPats AppData install path. This will be different depending on the Operating System you are running, we have included the most common ones below although officially XP is no longer supported:

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\(YOUR USER NAME)\Local Settings\Application Data\RSR Systems\SimplyPats7

Windows 7:
C:\Users\(YOUR USER NAME)\AppData\Local\RSR Systems\SimplyPats7

Windows 8:
C:\Users\(YOUR USER NAME)\AppData\Local\RSR Systems\SimplyPats7

Windows 10:
C:\Users\(YOUR USER NAME)\AppData\Local\RSR Systems\SimplyPats7

The (YOUR USER NAME) in each of the above paths will be your User Name or the Name of the Account you are currently logged into on your PC, so please take note of this when going through the folders.

Can’t see the AppData Folder?

If you cannot see the AppData folder in the User Account you probably have the “Show hidden files, folders and drives” disabled, to turn this option on go to Control Panel and choose Folder Options. Click on the View Tab and set the option “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and click Apply to save the changes.

The AppData Folder should now be viewable and accessible under the User Account.

Once you have access to the AppData Folder you can continue to the Temp Folder and delete the contents (however, first read the note below).

A note regarding files named Temp Download

You may have some Temp Download Files in the temp folder, these can be left if needed as they are not related to this particular issue, however if you are unsure of which files to delete you can safely delete them all.

Try starting SimplyPats again

See if the above has solved your issue, if not let us know.
