Hi,

Rather than delete a record, is there a way to retire an asset so it doesn't keep appearing as overdue? Some assets have gone 'missing' and can't be found when the test is overdue. However, it will probably turn up at some point.

Thanks

Hi West End Sparky

Are you referring to the Tools > Overdue Tests feature?

We did look at adding a feature where appliances could have a status applied to them, such as Out on Hire, Being Repaired or decommissioned for example. In fact the code was completed and the feature was added in a BETA, but removed due to feedback from users who suggested it was too complicated.

We have added the feature to SAMS, which is still in development so not much use to you at the moment.

What we can look at adding in the next update for SimplyPats V7 is an "Ignore this Site or Location" option on the "Overdue Tests" Screen. This would allow you to create a Site or Location for Missing Appliances and then have the List Overdue screen ignore these when the option is selected.

Some suggestions which may help in the short term until we get a chance to look at the above:

Create another Location or Site called “Missing Appliances” or similar and use that as the Location for the Missing Appliances.

Create another PAT Data File called Missing Appliances and transfer the missing ones to that file, you can then move them back at any time.

You could of course set the Test Date for all missing appliances to say year 2030 for example.
