Hi Folks

Manual Entry Electrical Tests and Formal Visual Tests Frequencies.

i have noted that if the frequencies are set at say 12 months for both or 12 months & 24 months on closing the manual entry template the settings for Formal Visual Tests are not retained. Is there a reason for this? I feel it would be helpful to retain all settings until the program is closed.

Hope this observation helps.

Best regards

Neil

Hi Neil

Yes that makes sense. I think this should be relatively straight forward to achieve.

I will put it on the list to do next week so that it is included in the next update (7.0.6) which I am planning to release this month.

Many thanks for the observation.

Regards, Richard.

Hi Neil

I have been looking at the issue of remembering the retest period on leaving the manual entry screen and this seems to work fine. I am not storing the retest period if you leave the SimplyPats program completely, it will only remember it during a single session.

Like most things, it is a bit more complicated than I first thought:

In between manual entry tests, you are prompted whether to clear all the values for the next test. (obviously if you are entering a series of similar appliances then you would say no as most of the information on screen remains unchanged.)

I am not sure whether saying Yes to the prompt above (to clear all the values) the Retest Period should be reset to 12months (as it currently is) or whether it should be set to what SimplyPats is now remembering. I'm thinking the latter??

Hopefully I will have a beta build of 7.0.6 ready today or tomorrow and maybe you would give it a try to see how it now behaves?

Regards, Richard.

Hi Richard

Apologies for the delay in replying.
If the retest period is set for say 12 months in both screen on the manual entry template on closing the template the retest period for
Formal Visual Tests is lost but not lost for the Electrical Tests screen.
Yes I would expect to lose settings when closing the programme.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards

Neil

Hi Neil

Thanks for the clarification. I have already coded the Manual Entry screen so that it remembers both the Full and Visual Only retest period.

Yep this will be the case.

I think I have also completed your other suggestions:

1 Tab Order (You can select to go horizontally or verticall)
2. Numeric keys on Manual Entry - Use key 1 for class 1 and key 2 for class 11
3. Customer address panel on invoices - I think Carl has addressed this for you with a custom report?

Carl and I have done some testing on this points, however I will try and do a beta build as soon as I can so that you can try them out if you would like?

Regards, Richard
