Hi Rick

Absolutely, we have a couple of Windows tablets in the office running full windows 8.1 and SimplyPats runs fine. You may want to give Carl a ring before you bite the bullet and purchase one as he uses one day to day and may have some advice. I think his is a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 which has a fast i5 processor and a decent sized screen (12 inches) but was about 500 quid.

I even bought a HP Stream 7 inch tablet from PC World to start writing a simple manual entry windows app. It was only 90 quid and SimplyPats even runs on that, however a 7inch screen makes it very fiddly (hard to read and select buttons) to use software designed for a bigger screen.

Main thing is to confirm it runs full Windows 8.1.

Regards, Richard

I now have a nice new tablet. Its Windows 8.1 and it like trying to use something from an alien planet lol but sure I will get the hang of it. So how do I get simply pats 7 onto it ive looked through the downloads but the just appear to be updates.

Hi Rick

I will PM you a link where you can download the full install of SimplyPats 7. If you do this on your new tablet you can install it direct to it. I would also do the upgrade from the forum as it will ben needed for the Apollo 500 download (which I think you are using)

Once installed you can either send the Licence Number (in the big yellow box) to our support email and hopefully Carl will pick it up and send you a Key back, however if you also PM me the key I will send you a key back if I get it before Carl.

Ive been using a Windows 8 tablet alot recently and after a bit of a shock and some sorting out of the main shortcuts I kinda like it.

Regards, Richard

So just to report back the tablet works with Simply pats & thanks to the excellent out of hours service provided by Richard I got it working that night. It downloads fine from my Apollo 600 but I do still prefer using the Laptop. I have noticed that it sometimes hangs a little during some opperations but its not an expensive machine so the proccessor could have maybe done with being a little quicker. But all in all its great to be able to pull up the simply pats while on site if needed.

Hi Rick

Many thanks for the update, glad you have got it all up and running. Good to hear the Apollo downloads via the OTG cable to the tablet. Guess as you say the processor might struggle in circumstances but for the price that's not unreasonable.

Cheers, Richard.
