PAT Testing as a Sub Contractor with SimplyPats

I have recently been asked by a few Simplypats users to provide a solution for their situation where they not only PAT test as their own company but they also provide PAT testing services as a sub contractor to another firm.

The problem they have when testing as a sub contractor is that they have to change all their settings in SimplyPats to that of the company that is contacting them, so that all the reports appear to have been provided by the contacting company.

At the moment this is time cosuming as you would have to go into the Your Settings screen and change the company address, logo, signature etc to that of the company that is contacting them. Finally having completed the job, you have to go back in and restore the settings back to your own company details. Obviously if you are sub contracting on regular basis this is a tiresome process.

I have recently dusted off a utility I wrote some 10 years ago for a SimplyPats version 2 user that had a similar need and re-wrote it for SimplyPats 6.

The utility allows you to switch what company settings you have prior to starting SimplyPats so making the job of producing reports as a PAT testing sub contractor much easier. At the moment you can only switch between 2 sets of your settings (Yours and the company that is contracting you).

It would be possible to make the utility even more advanced should you sub contractor for multiple companies.

The utility (SPSSwitch.exe) needs to be copied into the SimplyPats install folder, usually c:\program files\simplypats 6\ or if you are using windows 7 then it is c:\program files (x86)\simplypats 6

Create a short cut to this utility (SPSSwitch.exe) and place on the desktop (You can do this easily by right clicking the utility and select Send to, then select Desktop (Creat Shortcut)

When you use SimplyPats use the short cut to the utility rather than using the original SimplyPats shortcut.

If you would like this free utility and a help in installing it then please contact support and we will sort it out.
