Hi guys,
I use AOK's PC04 labels. Virtually identical to the 51mm x 25mm plug top labels.
Image
The label on the left was printed via SP, the right label was printed via Labels Unlimited.
The barcode on the right is easier for the scanner.

I'll bring a sheet with me tomorrow so hopefully you could make a new template.

Hi Rich

Thanks for the detailed images and info.

When you come down can you please bring one of the labels printed using your other software.

The Labels you are using look to be one of the ones already supported in SimplyPats, however we will know for sure when we get our hands on one of the sheets.

Either way, im sure we can make the changes you requested.

Look forward to seeing you.

Carl

If anyone else is interested in finding out more, we have just added a FAQ / User Guide section to the forum where PAT Testing Label templates are discussed in more detail.

Hi Carl.
I've sent you an email.
Not sure I brought home the right file as the alignment was way off just like when you first started :?

Thanks for your efforts.

No problem Rich

I will email you the Label Template that i know we were working on yesterday, if it’s still not right we will look at other settings that maybe causing the miss alignment.

Is the label stock you are using the same as the example you brought with you? Just double check, as i know there have been instances where the labels have been supplied with the margins reversed if that makes sense.

Carl

Cheers Carl.
Checked the sheet you was using against a blank one and they do match.
Tried scanning the sheet to email to you but that didn't line up. Cropping not accurate.
I'll try the new template and if that doesn't work I'll stick a sheet in the post to you.

Got a Datalogic Heron D130 USB scanner coming :D

Still no joy getting the printing to line up. Stuck some sheets in the post for you to play around with.
Got the new scanner so no need to make the barcode bigger.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for posting them out. We’ll get back to you once Carl has worked his magic.

It was nice to meet you the other day and good choice on the scanner front!

Regards,
Lorna

Hi Rich
Received the label templates in the post yesterday and have managed to have a look at the problem this morning.

I cannot replicate the print issue you are having, I have printed to two different printers and the output from SimplyPats lines up perfectly over the label samples you sent, so this maybe an issue with your particular printer or printer settings.

Either way, give us a call and we can go through and show you how to tweak the margin settings on the actual template itself.

Carl

Hi Rich,

I think the problems you are having maybe to do with your printer. If you want to tweak the Margins of the lables yourself to get them to work here's a rough guide!

In the SimplyPats Reports Folder (Usually C:\Program Files\SimplyPats 6\Reports

You will find your label template file called something like

ACME Green Pass Plug Top Labels (51mm by 25mm) 35 to A4 Sheet.rpx

with the extension rpx

You may want to make a copy of this file before you edit it, just incase anything goes wrong.... ;)

Here's how to edit the file:

    Right click on the file
    Select, Choose Open With,
    then Select Choose Program,
    now click Select Program From List
    From the list choose NotePad.

NB! Make sure you dont tick the box that says Always use the Selected Program to open this kind of file

To Change The Margins:

If you look down the gobbledygook you will see a section similar to that below:

Sub OnReportStart
rpt.pagesettings.orientation=1
rpt.pagesettings.Papersize=9
rpt.PageSettings.LeftMargin=570
rpt.PageSettings.RightMargin=0
rpt.PageSettings.TopMargin=624
rpt.PageSettings.BottomMargin=0

There are 56.692913386 (or for practicality 57) Twips to the Millimetre

(Twip stands for twentieth of an inch point - yes in the digital age we are still using some wierd units :) )

If your printing is occuring way to the right, reduce the Left Margin by changing the LeftMargin setting.

For example

rpt.PageSettings.LeftMargin=570 (is a 10mm Margin)

change to

rpt.PageSettings.LeftMargin=114 (is a 2mm Margin)

In Notepad go to the File Menu and click Save and then exit notepad.

Now run up SimplyPats and try printing the labels.

If it is still not correct, Rinse and Repeat.... ;)

You may need to print the labels out on blank paper (so as to save ruining a sheet of labels) and hold the printout up against some light with a blank sheet of tables underneath to see if everything lines up.

There should be no need to change the Bottom or Right Margin Settings.

Regards, Richard.
