On SimplyPats 6.0.8 (on Win XP Pro)

File / Download PATs

If you choose a CSV file that's locked (eg. by being open in Excel), you get a runtime error and SimplyPats crashes.

There's a fairly obvious workaround

Hi Clubtek-Shop

Thanks for your post.

Which PAT tester are you importing the data from? Is it a Megger 400 series file?

You are opening a CSV file that you also have open in Excel at the same time? If so I can put in an error trap in to check that the file is not locked by another program, so that hopefully SimplyPats will not crash.

As you say there is an obvious work around, however I will investigate trapping the error.

regards, Richard.

Hi Clubtek-Shop

I have added an error trap on the Download PATs screen where you can import a CSV file from those PAT testers that allow CSV import such as the Megger 420.

This will now check that the file you are importing is not locked by another program such as Microsoft Excel and warn you accordingly.

Regards, Richard.
