hi guys,
bernie here from down under,
have got a megger pat420 on loan, have managed to sort out the operation of the tester except for one thing, after an faulty asset has been saved ( eg replace a damaged lead or something) then retest and pass, how do you then save the passed test, it appears the only button available is ADD asset, once you go there pat420 indicates duplicate asset and won't. not getting any help from megger.

Hi bernie

To run a retest on our Megger 420 I do the following:

Press the TEST button when on the HOME SCREEN
Then enter the App ID of the appliance under test and press OK.
If the asset already exists then you will see all of the asset info on the screen.
Press TEST again to start the re-test then save the results when prompted.

You can check your test results by viewing the test results for the asset from the DATA screen.

I expect there may be other ways to run re-test using this tester and I would be grateful if any of our other users would let us know if they do this differently.

Regards
Lorna

I struggled with this for a little while, the manual is not particularly helpful.

Lorna is correct in that you start a test by just pressing the yellow TEST button, or by scanning a barcode. The hot-keys next to the screen are setup to add a new asset every time you start a test with them and it obviously doesn't like it when an asset with the same number already exists in the memory.

There are a couple of little annoying features like this on this particular tester, but on the whole I think it is a very powerful unit. Do not touch the Megger software though, it is beyond terrible.

thanks for the info,
once you find out these simple things you wonder how you missed them in the first place, thanks again. :D
