SSS Data support for Seaward PrimeTest 300 / 350 and SimplyPats

Over the past few years we have seen an increasing number of Seaward PrimeTest 300 and 350 users using SimplyPats to download their test data.

In the past we have only been able to offer downloading these testers in the legacy ASCII format, however due to the limitations offered by this data format we have decided to make a few changes to the way our software works with these PAT Testers by introducing support for SSS format.

When downloading in ASCII format with the PrimeTest 300 and PrimeTest 350 there are several pieces of information which are not recovered:

1) Retest Period
2) Location
3) Load Test Results
4) RCD Test Results

If downloading in ASCII format we ask our users to enter the Location and Retest Period in the comments fields at the end of each test instead of entering this information into the dedicated fields at the start of each test.

Adding support in SimplyPats for the native SSS data format will increase compatibility with these testers and in some cases offer slightly faster test times.

In addition to being able to download the items listed above, the test limits and time of test will also be displayed in SimplyPats as standard.

So far the results are encouraging and we are currently beta testing the new download routines before releasing this feature in a forthcoming upgrade.

Should you be interested in a beta version then please contact our support.

This will be great, currently our engineers have to add the locations and retest periods in the fields at the end. the problem this then causes after 50 comments are entered into the PT350 it starts to move the field data around for the next tests and you end up having the asset description in the location field then the retest in the location field.

Please let us know when the beta is available! hopefully this will save our engineers and back office staff a lot of time.

Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan

Thanks for the response and interest, I know from previous communication that support for the SSS data format when downloading from your Seaward PrimeTest 350’s and 300’s will be of great benefit to your company.

I will be in touch with you shortly regarding the deployment of the BETA to your PAT Testing Professionals. You will also need to send them an information sheet which I will supply, as there will be some important changes they will need to make with regards to data entry into the PAT itself.

I’m sure your PAT Testing Professionals will also welcome the changes as the testing procedure should now be more straight forward and slightly quicker.

Regards Carl

Many thanks to Carl and the team for letting us test this update to Simply PATS. It works brilliantly and saves a lot of time onsite and when in the office running reports.

Keep up the great work!
