Hi, I am having trouble finding data I KNOW I have downloaded....somewhere. Every search I have tried however is not showing up the results.

I did find a .BAK file in the SimplyPats6 Backup file, which I was hoping to access. Is it possible to open the .BAK data file to access the downloaded data? If so, how?

Thank you.

Hi Tas

When you download into SimplyPats you have to save the file. The default location is the Data folder in the SimplyPats program file but you can save your data wherever you choose.

The Backup (.BAK) file is created when you download and as you know is stored in the Backup file in the SimplyPats program file.

To access the data in the backup file please take a copy of the file and change the file extension to .PAT. This will allow you to open the file in SimplyPats.

SimplyPats versions 6.0.5 and above creates a secondary backup of the raw data during the download process. If you are not running 6.0.5 or above I recommend that you upgrade using the link below:

http://www.simplypats.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=670

If you are running the latest version and the backup file does not contain the data you are looking for please email us your raw data files (found in the Raw Data folder in the SimplyPats program file) and we will create .PAT files for you to use.

If you get stuck we can give you a call out of hours to make up for the time difference.

Regards,
Lorna

Hi Tas,

Glad it worked!

If you’ve not yet updated to 6.0.5 or 6.0.6 then I would recommend that you do that soon that way we will always have the Raw Data backup should you lose any data.

Let us know if you need help with anything else.

Regards,
Lorna
