Hi.

I'm a new boader here so be gentle (tolerant) please.
Just bought a new KT77 and are using simply pats, I have spent all week 'playing' testing, dowloading, then adjusting descriptions, logos, fuse ratings, serial no. etc.

When I go back to do retests, add new equipment to the same site, then re-download, it overights all the extra details, logos on the software record in simply pats.

I have looked at the merging pat file thread posted on the forum on 19/july/2012 by SPS support, but I have on .pat file to import only .sss files.

Any help please.

Also is there anyplace to downdown a simplypats manual.

Many thanks, kind regards.

Johnboy

Hi Johnboy and welcome to the SimplyPats forum.

When you download or import data into SimplyPats from a PAT tester you have to save the file so you can retrieve it at a later date. The file extension of these types of files is .PAT.

As you are using the KT77 you have the ability to import data from the PAT to the PC using a USB stick. If you wish to merge different files together you first must import them into SimplyPats and save them as mentioned above. You can then go through the IMPORT FILE process and merge both together.

To import one data file into another please open the first file then click FILE then select IMPORT FILE. An OPEN FILE dialogue box will pop up and you then navigate to the .PAT file that you wish to import.

Our contextual Help Menu is our user manual. You can access it using the HELP button on every screen or by clicking HELP on the top toolbar.

If you would like to have the Help Menu as a PDF you can download it using the following link:

http://www.simplypats.co.uk/pat_testing_software/Contents.htm

NB This is a very large file and may take a while to download.

If this doesn't make any sense please call the office on 01326 378268 and we can talk you through the process.

Regards,
Lorna

Hi Johnboy

You might also like to read this topic on Importing One File into another

viewtopic.php?f=57&t=688

It also appears that the link Lorna has given you isn't to the PDF manual but to a copy of the Help pages you have installed in your SimplyPats program. I will arrange for the link to be amended on Monday 8th October so that you can download a PDF of all the help system.

If you are still stuck or have any other questions, please post on here or ring our support line.

Regards, Richard.

Sorry for giving you the wrong link.
