SimplyPats Crashes when clicking Print Results

If you receive the following error: “Simplypats has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience” when clicking on the Print Results option, please follow one of the steps below.

This error is caused when your Company Logo in the Your Settings screen has been set to load from a Path that does not exist or is not available, such as loading the Logo from a CD Rom then removing the CD Rom from the drive.

Resolution 1

1) Run Simplypats
2) Choose Settings > Your Settings
3) Click on the Logo Button
4) When is asks you “Do you want to Remove the Logo” choose Yes
5) Restart SimplyPats and try Printing again

If this does not work, please try the following;

Resolution 2

1) Go to your SimplyPats 5 Install folder, this will be C:\Program Files\SimplyPats 5 if you have installed SimplyPats to the Default location.
Find the SimplyPats.ini file and double click on it.

If Windows does not know what program to use to open the SimplyPats.ini file, choose Notepad from the available choices. If you do not have the option set to show File Extensions under Windows, the file will just be called SimplyPats. Other files such as SimplyPats Tipofday, SimplyPatsTest Prices etc will have the same icon.

2) Scroll down until you see the following:

[User Settings]

Now look for the following line of text under User 16=

User 16=C:\Documents and Settings\Carl\Desktop\SimplyPats Master\Example Company Logo.jpg

Delete the Path but leave the User 16=

The file should now look like this

User 15=4458712
User 16=
User 17=13

Save the File by choosing File > Save

3) Restart SimplyPats and try printing again.

If you want to set a company logo, we suggest that you follow the instructions in the following Forum Post
