Hello,
When I select 'Find Duplicates, I only see one record of each (duplicated) item number. Is this correct? It would be nice to choose which entry needed editing or deleting.
regards

Hi quarndon, thanks for your post

Yes, at the moment the Find Duplicates function shows the First and Last duplicated appliances (first and last by date). The most recent occurence in the left hand columns, the oldest occurence in the right hand columns. The column at the end shows you the total number of duplicates (triplicates /quadruplicates... ect) of the aplpliance.

I did try to organise the screen to show all the occurences at the same time but we found it too complex when deciding which was the correct apliance to keep when you could see just two options side by side. Hope that makes sense.

I will have another look to see if we can make it easier to use where their are multiple occurences.

Regards, Richard

Thank you. I've worked it out now and it's proving to be a very useful feature.
For me, I think displaying two records will be good enough 99.9% of the time, so I wouldn't give it too much thought if I were you.
Thanks again

Hi quarndon,

Thanks for the follow up, Glad to hear its proving useful 99 percent to the time. It's a great improvement on the older pre 5-2-5 version (not hard, as that was about as useful as a chocolate teapot!!).

I guess with the new Import and Update feature (5-2-8 I think.. i'm loosing track ;)) it's now easier to merge several files to update the Appliances and so get fewer duplicates. It also seems alot more of our users are using unique and or barcoded appliance id labels these days.

Thanks again for the feedback, Ill get back to bug fixing for the next release!

Regards, Richard
