Just to let you know, the upgrade 5-3-0 due for release in August 2009 has had to be put back a while. The pinciple reason for this is that we have added over 35 new features including a change to the file structure.

Whilst everything so far is going fine, there is a large amount of testing required to ensure we haven't introduced a new set of bugs.

Unforunately with this upgrade, it is such a big change we cannot release it to our normal field testers. We will keep you posted as to the progress.

Major additons to this release are the following inclusions:

Storage of Class, Fuse Rating and Appliance Serial Numbers in order to more closely follow the latest release of the IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

Storage of RCD and Microwave test result data.

New Reports for RCD and Microwaves.

Please see the following topic for a complete list of additions, ammendments and bug fixes.

Just an update on the release of the next planned upgrade.

As you are probably aware, Microsoft is launching a new operating system, Windows 7, due for release in the UK on October 22nd 2009.

In addition to the 50 or so new features that have been planned for inclusion in the next upgrade 5-3-0, we are also timing this to include compatibility with Windows 7.

Currently we do not have a full retail version of windows 7 (ours will arrive hopefully on the 24th October 2009) and it's looking certain with the problems caused by Windows 7 that we will have to release a new version of SimplyPats.

See viewtopic.php?f=11&t=192 for more information.

The new upgrade will be offered to exisisting Version 5 users for a nominal fee, i.e. just to cover costs. Users of older versions of SimplyPats will have to pay a more realistic upgrade fee, which will be announced shortly.

Richard.
