Hello

We are new to SimplyPats and currently have Windows 7 in the office. Unfortunately, whenever we try to open "System Settings" the program crashes, even in compatibility mode (Vista and XP).
Any support is appreciated on this matter!

Thanks

Thank you for your post GranvillePAT

I presume you are running the Windows 7 Release Candidate Version as the Retail Version of Windows 7 is not due for release until some time around October 09.

We have tested SimplyPats on the Windows 7 Release Candidate and have found no problems so far. That said, we will certainly look into your problem and address the issue as soon as possible.

It could be something simple like a file not being registered on install due to an admin rights issue.

I may need to contact you to get a better idea of the situation or to offer a few possible solutions if that is ok?

Regards Carl

It would be good to have contact on this issue, we'd appreciate it. Also, we are not using a release candidate but the version issued under Microsoft's software assurance option, it seems there must be a difference somewhere. Thanks for getting back so quickly.

Hi Chris

I have tried to contact you by phone, however due to the Summer Holiday I dont think anyone is there.

We think it may be a similar issue to the one found in the following post;
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=109

You may also want to have a look at this one viewtopic.php?f=11&t=119 and try opening the Settings > Back up your test data screen to see if the same thing happens.

If you can send an email to our support address with your contact number I will certainly give you a call.

Carl

Hi Chris

Just thought I would let you know about the latest developments with SimplyPats and Windows 7 Compatibility.

After receiving a much later build of Windows 7, there is indeed a compatibility issue.

We have now solved the issue and an upgrade will be available in the not to distant future.

Regards Carl

Hi, and thank you for your post regarding SimplyPats Version 5 and Windows 7.

We are aware of this error as well as a few others related to SimplyPats V5 Compatibility with Windows 7.

We are currently working to resolve any compatibility issues that may arise and will release a compatible version in the very near future.

Please see the following post for more information.

Hi, I seem to have the same problem while running the software on windows 7,
when i click on "system settings" the program closes, which is most
annoying at present as the software defaults to a metrel tester and mine is a fluke
so i have to enter data manually at present, any ideas on cost and timeline
whin the update will be complete

many thanks Andy
