hi, been looking for an elt1 (extension lead test accessory) for quick and convenient testing of 240v 3 pin extension leads.
so far failed to find one for sale as the pat32 has been superseded.
does anybody have one for sale? or is there a simple reliable option which i have over looked?

Hi c.les07,

I don't know what your PAT testing unit looks like.

How do you test the power lead for a computer/monitor/printer? These power leads usually have a standard 3 pin 240V plug that plugs into the normal power outlet at the wall and a IEC320 style socket that plugs into the back of the computer.

Does your PAT machine have a standard 3 pin socket connecting point, other than the power lead for the tester? Does the unit have a IEC320 style 3 pin (plug) connection point?

If yes to both questions, connect the plug end of the extension lead to the PAT unit. Connect the 3 pin plug end of the computer power lead into the socket end of the extension lead. Connect the socket end of the IEC320 power lead into the tester (plug type connection point).

Now test the consolidated/combination lead as it was a normal computer power lead. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Glenn
