The Fluke 6500 PAT Tester has the option of both downloading your PAT Data to your PC via the Serial Interface using a dedicated cable solution, or downloading your PAT Data to a CF removable Memory Card. The F Card can then be ejected and plugged into your PC Card Reader Slot if available or an external multi purpose USB Card Reader.

The Portable Appliance Testing Data can then be loaded into SimplyPats direct from the CF Card, providing the following instructions are followed.

How to download PAT Data from your Fluke 6500 onto a CF Card, in SimplyPats readable format.

Make sure you have a compatible CF Card inserted into the CF Card slot on your PAT. We have used a standard Digital Camera 2GB Card in tests, which worked fine.

On your Fluke 6500 press the PC/PRINT button

Choose the option: TRANSFER DATA TO CF CARD

Select Data to download; Record Number, Date, Site etc

The FORMAT should be set to POWERPATPlus

Pressing GO will display the following:

TRANSFER TO CF CARD

ENTER FILE NAME AND PRESS GO

ppplus.flk

If you wish to enter your own file name, it’s important that you include the .flk at the end.

For example

rsrsystems.flk

If you do not enter the file extension (.flk) at the end of the file, SimplyPats will not know what type of file it is, and will not display the file as readable when you choose File > Open File and select .flk from the Files of Type list.

You will need to be running SimplyPats Version 5.2.6 or above to have the option of loading Fluke .flk files
