Time Out / Communication Error when Downloading using Search

The Fluke as with some other PAT Testers has the ability to download selected assets based on search criteria entered into the PAT Tester by the user.

The options available on the Fluke 6500 PAT Tester when downloading to PC (or CF Card) are as follows:

Record Number > First / Last
Date > From / To
Site > From / To
Keyword

If you are using any of these fields to search and download a particular range of assets, you may receive a Time Out or Communication Error on SimplyPats.

This happens because the PAT Tester seems to send the data as it finds it. SimplyPats starts receiving the data, however if there is more than a few seconds delay between data being sent, SimplyPats gives up and reports a Time Out or Communication Error, as it hasn’t received any data or an End of Data notification from the PAT Tester.

We will look at increasing the Time Out delay in a future update, however if you are receiving an error in the mean time, we recommend that you download all data stored in the PAT Tester and sort/delete the data from within SimplyPats.
