Hi Richard
I have replied to your other post
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=302&p=806#p806 where you mentioned that you were looking for a second hand Seaward PrimeTest 300 or 350 as both of these PAT Testers offer portability due to being battery operated.
You have not mentioned which PAT Testing software you are currently using, Seaward PATGuard, SimplyPats or AN Other?
The Seaward PrimeTest range is certainly very popular, however there are a few other battery powered PAT Tester options available; Transmille 6080 Plus, Metrel GammaPat and the soon to be released Metrel SigmaPAT (we believe).
The Metrel GammaPat MI3311 is a very small lightweight unit, feels comfortable to use and has a very nice display. The GammaPat also has an inbuilt memory capable of storing up to 1700 tests. User text input is very limited as there is no keyboard, any information, such as the Appliance Id that can be entered into the PAT is carried out using simple up/down buttons from what we can gather.
If you cant quite justify the cost of purchasing a Seaward PrimeTest 300 or 350, then the GammaPat may be worth a look as it can be purchased new for less than £400.00 in the Lite version.
We believe that Metrel are also going to release another PAT Tester called the SigmaPat, from what we can gather this tester is also battery operated and features a QWERTY keyboard.
The Metrel GammaPat MI 3311 and SigmaPat are very new testers so compatibility with SimplyPats has not yet been announced as we are currently looking into adding support for these testers, please see the following forum post for more information
viewtopic.php?f=43&t=61I would certainly suggest that you contact a specialist PAT Testing distributor for further advice and to check that the information I have provided above is accurate.
