Moulded BS 1363 Plug Exposed

Out of curiosity we decided to take apart a moulded plug after our Apollo 600 and Megger 420 both failed the IEC Lead on continuity.

The purpose of this random act of butchery was really to see how these plugs are made up.

The IEC lead in question was one of four items that were PAT Tested as a favour to a local business. We did explain that we don’t do PAT Testing ourselves but they were more than welcome to use one of our PAT Testers to do the job if they popped along to our office.

Four people and an hour and a half later we had completed five tests (inc the fail and replacement lead), I don’t think we will be giving up PAT Software Development and going into actual testing in a hurry ;)
