hi i have a metrel betapat mi 2141 tester how do i do a test on 440v i have a red plug to a 13 amp to test with but not sure on what test to do for them and allso on i. t. equipment how do i know what test to do if thay are not en60950 rated as some do not have this on them do i test at 250v insted 500v to play it safe :?: thanks richard

On a 400V, 3-phase appliance, using the BS1363 to BS EN 60309 adaptor lead, you would be restricted to doing:

Visual Inspection
Earth Continuity
Insulation Resistance

Don't try to do any powered tests.

Yes, play it safe.
If you aren't sure the equipment is build to BS EN 60950, then play it safe with the IR test at 250V dc.
Obviously, you'd want to do the Earth Continuity at 20mA - 200mA for any IT-type appliance.
